It’ll be intense for everyone, that’s for sure, but each sign will experience it differently.
Two weeks ago we had a solar eclipse, which hopefully sparked some healthy (and perhaps even spiritual) growth in your life. You may have released what wasn’t working for you and welcomed some new energy in. Now, the lunar eclipse approaching will complete the story of this eclipse series.
A lunar eclipse happens when the Earth is between the sun and moon in such a way that it blocks the light of the sun from falling on the moon. During solar eclipses, the moon’s shadow falls on the sun. When a lunar eclipse happens, however, the Earth’s shadow blocks the moon and bathes it in a red glow. While a solar eclipse is an amped-up new moon, a new lunar eclipse acts as much more potent full moon. Full moons are times of completion, letting go, and releasing. Lunar eclipses are times when things in your life may leave, fall apart, or disintegrate. Now is a time for being present, seeing what’s leaving, and allowing time to process it.
The lunar eclipse is at 24 degrees and 4 minutes of Capricorn. This will likely affect all of our relationships with authority figures, parents, and bosses, and on a larger scale, the government and corporations. Read on to learn more about how it will affect each sun sign individually.
If your job situation is still giving you pause and you’re hesitating on making a major move, what was boiling before is really going to come to the surface. Simply put, you may be forced to make a decision. On the other hand, you might just reach a place of understanding and peace within yourself about what you need to do. However, I recommend you wait two weeks before taking drastic action. I know that as an Aries, you tend to be impulsive, but whatever you do, it’s likely that everything will be fine. This change is sorely needed, and things will shake out your way in the end.
You may be realizing that what other people value and think of as “success” don’t line up with your ideal picture of what you want. Maybe right now you’d like to travel more, advocate for your community, or learn a new trade. Or maybe you want to build a family, but not the stereotypical family that you’ve grown up watching during primetime. Who knows, and honestly, who cares? Make a list of what you want, Taurus, and double-check that list. Additionally, this is also a great time for a social media vacation. Getting away from feeling like you need to live up to everyone else’s hyper-curated lives.
Let me start by saying I am so sorry if this time has been tough for you, Gemini. I know you usually like to talk your way around your feelings and attempt to logic your way out of those that are more complex, but as it’s still Cancer season, this is an important time to let yourself cry, scream, and bury yourself in a mound of pillows. You’re processing very deep, intense stuff. Find a shoulder to cry on in a friend or two and let yourself rest there for a bit.
The solar eclipse may have prompted some important discoveries for you, and the lunar eclipse is yet another chance for you to look at the relationships in your life where you may be doing all the work. (And, given that it’s in your sign, it may feel especially intense.) Whether it’s a business partnership. a romantic relationship, or a close friendship, something has to change. Ask yourself whether you really still need that person in your life — if you don’t, work toward cutting them out, and if so, figure out ways to protect yourself and better communicate boundaries.
You’ve been dealing with a lot of crises in your day to day life right now, whether it’s at your day job, with your partner/s, or a financial situation you just can’t seem to get a hold of. The changes brought about by this eclipse should alleviate some of that for you. Also, if you’ve been struggling with trying to change some bad habits, the universe is on your side right now, Leo, and you may find it easier to make the changes you need to be more efficient.
I’m just going to go ahead and say it: You might find yourself dealing with some of your vices right now, Virgo. Your opposite sign is Pisces and sometimes you may find that it feels as though you’re still feeling out what boundaries exist in your personal relationships. But the Virgo archetype is mainly about order and everything in its place. Things will figure themselves out eventually — you just have to make it through these rough waters.
Your physical home, family, and roots continue to be an overpowering theme this week. You might be realizing that you’re surrounded by some toxic people — and not only are they toxic themselves, but you may also even find yourself sinking to their level when you’re around them. The lunar eclipse will allow you to take some space for yourself to reassess these relationships, as well as stop letting yourself get pulled into their games and drama. Hopefully, in the long run, you’ll be able to set the clear boundaries you need, Libra. On the other hand, these people will have some realizations of their own about this behavior.
It’s true that the world is a hard place and your life may not have exactly been easy, but you don’t need to carry that weight with you all the time, Scorpio. Allowing yourself to process things is one thing, but wallowing and living in the muck is another, and you also deserve joy. This eclipse is about releasing old gnawing thoughts and the hurts of the past.
You’re finding that your money is tied up with people or things beyond your control. You may feel restricted and controlled, and honestly, that’s the worst thing for a Sagittarius. Above all, you need freedom and to be able to bend the rules a little. In this capitalist society, money offers a certain amount of mobility, but people often take it too far and use it to measure worth. You are now dismantling this notion, and your money does not equal your success. Perhaps up until now, you’ve been saying “I will do this when I have the money.” If possible, find a way to do what you want anyway.
This lunar eclipse is in your sign and will be particularly meaningful for you, Capricorn, especially if you were born on January 15, 16, or 17. Put your seatbelt on — the universe may ask for you to let go of some big blocks. Keep in mind, however, that we can’t welcome in what’s new and exciting without excising the old junk that’s been blocking it in the first place. There will be a time to mourn that loss, but you also have to allow room for new paths to open up.
This eclipse will ask you to attempt to be present, Aquarius. Do whatever you can to turn off your left brain and live in the right brain space for a bit. Do you have a spiritual practice? Do you like to journal? It’s OK if the answer to either (or both) of these questions is no, just try to do something that’s solely for you, even if it’s just going for a walk and listening to some of your favorite music. You may find that taking this time gives you the answer to a question you’ve been looking for.
You will continue to have big realizations about some of the major groups you spend time with, including your friends, coworkers, and family (chosen or blood). Maybe you’re realizing they don’t support you the way they’d like, or maybe you can’t quite trust them, or maybe you feel like you could be more present when you spend time. The thing is, as a sensitive Pisces, you need to be with caring, compassionate people. Do what you need to do to make this happen.
