GREAT WHITE SHARK ROCK
Rising out of the waters of Palolem Beach in South Goa, India stands an impressive painting of a great white shark that looks fairly realistic.
When he first saw the rock, graffiti artist Jimmy Swift said it was the perfect shaped rock to paint a shark on.
The rock stands close to 12 feet tall and when the tide is up it looks just like a massive great white shark is thrusting out the water.
The rock was first painted in 2015 and quickly became a popular spot for people to take selfies and group pictures.
Most of the time people post pictures of themselves pretending they’re trying to swim away from Jaws (the shark movie that inspired Jimmy to paint the rock).
“This was the hardest thing I’ve ever painted. I was literally beat up by the waves and rising tide and forced to stop before it was finished.”
REPAINTING THE SHARK ROCK
Above is what the rock first looked like when Jimmy painted it in 2015.
He later returned in 2017 to the beach and noticed much of the paint had faded away so he decided to repaint it. Take a look below to see the new paint job.
“After two years my shark was almost completely faded away, so a fresh coat of paint and he’s back and ready for more selfies.” Jimmy posted on Instagram.
The fresh coat of paint is all it needed to get back to its realistic looking self.
It’s truly amazing how Mother Nature can carve out such a perfectly shaped rock for a painting like this.
With summer finally here so comes the beach weather and if you’d like to give it a shot at painting a shark on a rock then check out this DIY video below to learn how.
The shark was not his only mother nature inspired creation.
He transformed this large rock into an elephant complete with some bushy hair
