Sometimes you need to be in the right place at the right time.
Other times, your catering trailer needs to be.
That was the case for an anonymous vendor who worked at Owen’s Catering during the Glastonbury Festival back in 2002.
As the story goes, Owen’s Catering secured their catering truck to the festival grounds with a large yellow wheel clamp to prevent it from running away.
As the wheel clamp was secured to the back facing wheel, the area was regularly used by inebriated festival goers who needed to take a leak.
Believe it or not, Banksy happened to be one of those festival goers and at some time during a Banksy-tinkle, he pulled out his spray cans and stencilled his famous ‘parachuting rats’ on the wheel clamp.
How much does a Banksy leak cost?
We’re not sure, but Julien’s Auctions have put the wheel clamp-cum-artwork up for auction on April 26.
The asking price?
A cool $60,000.
